Arizona and Tommy Lloyd have landed class of 2024 five-star small forward Carter Bryant, he announced live with 247Sports on Wednesday.
Bryant, the 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward from Sage High School (CA) and the Paul George Elite AAU program, chose Arizona over his other finalist Louisville.
“I felt like it was the best program for me from the aspect of the person I am as a student athlete,” Bryant said to 247Sports. “I just felt like it fit me the most on and off the court.”
This is the second hard commit to Arizona and Lloyd in the class of 2024. Bryant, the No. 4 overall player in the class, joins four-star shooting guard and No. 26 overall ranked prospect Jamari Phillips.
Bryant took multiple visits to the Tucson campus, including his most recent official on March 11. Bryant said the pedigree of Arizona’s staff helped him choose the Wildcats.
“The coaching staff has coached at multiple levels,” Bryant said. “I know their development is some of the best in the country. I know when I get there, I’m going to get better.”
Bryant has ties to Arizona, as his aunt used to play basketball for the Wildcats. He watched her play growing up, and he said that makes putting on the uniform even more special.
“The fanbase that they have and the support system they have behind [Arizona], it’s ridiculous,” Bryant said. “I feel like it’s one of the best fanbases in college basketball, if not the best. To be able to play there… it’s definitely an opportunity I’ve always dreamed of.”
