Jake Goldberg, a 6-foot-4, 198-pound combo guard from IMG Academy (FL), has committed to Grant Billmeier and NJIT.
He also had an offer from VMI.
The Pasadena, Calif. native becomes NJIT’s second commit under Billmeier following forward Jeffrey Akintolu,
“I fell in love with NJIT, from the great coaches and people running the school,” he said. “Everyone was so kind and treated me like family from the jump.
“Coach Billmeier is an amazing coach with an impressive background that I had to play for him. I am going to bring intensity on both sides of the ball and work to make a huge impact from the jump. I am a 3-way scorer and great defender that’s ready to win championships with Coach Billmeier and the team.”
During his introductory press conference last week, Billmeier said he would target a mix of high school recruits and transfers after taking over a roster with just six players.
“I’m not promising you we’re going to win championships,” he said. “But I’m promising you there will never be a team more prepared.”
