Isaiah Miranda, the 7-foot big man from Pawtucket, R.I., has committed to Oklahoma State, his AAU coach confirmed. He will arrive on campus this week.

Assistant coach Terrence Rencher was the lead recruiter. Miranda also drew interest from Alabama, DePaul and Ole Miss after Wednesday’s NBA Draft withdrawal deadline

‘Superb athlete, will bring an instant impact on defense, protecting the rim, rebounding the ball and [bringing] switch-ability,” Rhode Island Elite coach Nick Light said.

“Offensively, they are getting a guy who can rim run, short roll and knock the 3 down!”

Miranda committed to N.C. State last December and enrolled for the second semester but never played a minute for the Wolfpack.

Still, with a 7-foot-4 wingspan and a 9-foot-4 standing reach, he is a highly valuable commodity.

Miranda was the No. 30 overall player in the class of 2023 according to 247Sports.

He chose the Wolfpack over Georgetown, Louisville, USC, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech, among others.

“He brings the ability to stretch the floor and knock the 3 down,” Southern California Academy (CA.) head coach Julius von Hanzlik told ZAGSBLOG when he committed. “[Miranda’s] 7-foot-1 with NBA athleticism that really comes out when it comes to rim protection & rebounding.”
