Five-star forward Liam McNeeley has announced his top six schools.
The 6-foot-7 forward from Richardson, Texas and Montverde (FL) Academy is considering Oklahoma, Kansas, Alabama, Texas, Michigan and Indiana.
The No. 1-ranked power forward in the Class of 2024 per 247Sports.com, he broke down some of his top options earlier this season.
Texas (which he visited in April): “They just wanted me to know how much they want me to be a Longhorn and what they were going to do to help me achieve my goals.”
Alabama: “Coach [Nate] Oats talked to me [Thursday] night and he said they run an NBA style and that’s true. Brandon Miller, he’s going to be a very high lottery pick and that’s what I’m trying to be.”
Oklahoma: “Coach [Porter] Moser just beat Alabama by a lot, and he’s obviously a great coach. He was at Loyola, took that team deep in the [NCAA] Tournament, so I like what he does.”
Indiana: “I talk to Indiana almost every day. I’ve gotten really close with their coaches. They’re in a little slump right now but I think they’ll pick it back up.”
He also broke down the other schools with Tipton Edits:
Michigan: “Coach (Juwan) Howard, talks to me every week. We talk on the phone, we text. He’s obviously a great basketball mind, playing in the NBA and playing in Michigan and now coaching at Michigan. He is coaching his son right now, Jett, and he’s doing really good, so it’s good to see. I’m excited to grow that relationship.”
Kansas: “I talk with Coach (Norm) Roberts all the time. He sends me texts like once every day or two days, so we keep in regular touch.”
