Class of 2024 shooting guard and four-star prospect Larry Johnson has committed to Creighton, per his announcement live on the 247Sports YouTube page.
Johnson — the 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard from Southern California Academy — chose Creighton over his other finalists of Illinois, Mississippi State, Missouri and Virginia Tech.
His commitment to Creighton comes after visiting this past weekend.
“The fans, I can’t wait to play in front of them,” Johnson said. “The Creighton players, coach [Greg] McDermott, everybody just embraced me when I took my visit. It felt like family.”
Johnson is ranked the No. 80 player in the nation per 247Sports and the No. 10 overall player in the state of California.
“Larry has tremendous upside,” Southern California academy coach Julius Von Hanzlik said. “His athleticism is electric. He has Zion Williamson like explosiveness. He’s a tenacious defender. Just a dog! Offensively he really puts pressure on the rim and can play through contact as well as finish above the rim. He does good job making the right reads off the dribble. True scorers and playmaker.”
