UConn is hosting cousins Isaiah Abraham and Pat Ngongba of Paul VI (VA) and Team Takeover for their First Night festivities on Friday.

The 6-foot-7 Abraham committed to the reigning national champions back in June, and said he was recruiting his cousin to join him.

“It would be pretty tough,” Abraham told ZAGSBLOG in June. “Me and Pat being cousins and stuff, playing with each other before, we have a really good feel. And Ahmad Nowell, I know him and I played against him and stuff. It would be huge, it would be a pretty good class coming in.”

The 6-10 Ngongba is rated as a five-star center by 247Sports.com and will visit Duke next week for their Countdown to Craziness. Ngongba visited Michigan last month and Kentucky last weekend will also visit Kansas State the weekend of Oct. 27. He and Abraham also visited UConn over the summer.

“Pat brings a lot of versatility, has ability to be tough around the basket, rebound and rim protect, and has passing and decision-making skills that allow him to be very effective on the perimeter,” PVI coach Glenn Farello said. “He can shoot it from all ranges. High efficiency player. Great in pick-and-roll. And is adept at all ball screen coverages.”

Ngongba will visit Duke along with five-stars Cooper Flagg of Montverde (FL) and V.J. Edgecombe of Long Island Lutheran.

The 6-8 Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in 2024, is down to UConn and Duke, and is expected to decide some after the Duke visit.
