Four-star forward Pharaoh Compton commits to San Diego State

Pharaoh Compton, the 6-foot-8 forward from Las Vegas (NV) Arbor View, committed to San Diego State Sunday night.

Ranked the No. 17 power forward in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.com, Compton chose the Aztecs over LSU, Iowa, Tennessee and UNLV. He visited San Diego State earlier this month.

“Coach [Brian] Dutcher always makes sure to keep a good relationship with me and my family, and all my coaches” he told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

“It just felt good, I felt a lot of connection between us the whole time we talked and ever since he started recruiting me.”

Asked what he has to work on next in his game, Compton said, “For the next step moving forward, I definitely have to work on improving my handle and my jump shot, 15-footer and 30-footer, and my 3-point [shot] out there a little bit. That’s the next step.

“I’m going to put that work in for sure.”
