2024 three-star Troy McKoy has started to see his recruitment heat up as he enters his prep season at Cushing Academy (MA.)

The 6-foot-5 combo guard holds offers from NC A&T, Sacred Heart, Robert Morris, Merrimack, Longwood, Mount St. Mary’s, South Carolina State and Northern Illinois.

“I came here [Cushing] to get ready for the next level,” he said in an interview with ZAGSBLOG. “As of right now, my recruitment is open. I will pick a college by relationship and the playing style the school has and how I feel they will prepare me and how will I fit.””

Mckoy mentioned North Carolina A&T and Northern Illinois are recruiting him the hardest.

He visited North Carolina A&T back in September.

“It was a great visit,” he said. “I love the coaching staff, they seem very genuine. I got to hang out with the team and I liked the whole visit.”

While he doesn’t have any other visits scheduled, McKoy hopes to visit NIU by December or January.

“It’s a great relationship I have with Coach Drew [Gladstone] and the staff,” he said. “They’ve come up to see me a few times, he’s [Gladstone] coming up Wednesday again.”

In terms of what he can bring to a college program, McKoy cited his versatility.

” I feel like I’m more of a big-guardm” he said. “I’m transitioning to the combo-spot. Still a lot to learn and I love to obviously work out, I love to get better. I do all I can.

“I feel like I played very hard,” Mckoy concluded. “I play with a chip on my shoulder. I play defense and I can score the ball from all from all areas on the court.”
