Deuce Jones, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound point guard from College Achieve Prep (N.J.) and the Team Final EYBL program has committed to La Salle University, he told ZAGSBLOG.
Jones chose the Explorers over Fairfield and Florida International.
“I will be taking my talents to the La Salle University because of the hype around it,” he said. “My uncle went to La Salle. I played for Team Final since 7th grade so I’m familiar with the area and it’s also close to home.
“Coach [Fran] Dunphy is a legendary coach and fits me well. The skillset I am bringing is scoring, defense, energy and play-making.”
Said College Achieve coach Dave Boff: “I’m ery excited for Deuce to have the opportunity to go to Lasalle and play for Coach Dunphy. Deuce is an extremely hard worker who is disruptive defensively and has the ability to get to his spots on offense. He’s a tough Jersey guard. Historically those guys do well at the college level.” Jones said he’s recruiting a couple of his teammates to join him. “I am recruiting Nas Hart and Eunique Rink because it’s nothing like having teammates from your high school play with you in college.
