Howard’s Seth Towns receives waiver to play 8th season of college basketball

Howard forward Seth Towns was cleared to play this season in what will be his 8th year of college basketball, a source confirmed.

Towns suited up for Howard’s game Tuesday night against Boston University, the source said.

Breaking: Howard transfer forward Seth Towns has been cleared by the NCAA for his 8th season of college hoops.

Towns has been in college since 2016 and earned 2 degrees thus far.

Towns, 26, has been out of basketball for three years. He hasn’t played since Max Abmas of Oral Roberts hit the shot in the bubble to upset No. 2 Ohio State in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Towns started his career at Harvard, spending four years there, before transferring to Ohio State, where he spent three seasons. He’s now in his first season at Howard.

The Columbus, Ohio native has averaged 11.1 points and 4.2 rebounds in his career.
