SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Cameron Boozer, the No. 2 prospect in the Class of 2025, updated his recruitment during the Hoophall Classic while also eyeing his first potential appearance in the GEICO High School Basketball Nationals this spring.
The 6-foot-9 power forward from Columbus (FL) High School took visits this fall to Kentucky, Miami, Florida and Duke, where his father, Carlos Boozer, starred before his NBA career..
He broke down each school and its message:
Kentucky: “It’s a great school, a lot I can take away from, just from going to practices and stuff. It’s a high-level program with a high-level coach.”
Miami: “Miami’s been one of the most winning schools for the last two years. They won the regular season for ACC back-to-back, and it’s right next to home. So it’s another great option to have.”
Florida: “It was good, another school that’s kind of young and upcoming. They just got a whole new staff and this is the first year with the new staff [under coach Todd Golden] and all the players they have on scholarship, so they’re young and they’re hungry so it’s a great option to have.”
Duke: “I mean, it’s Duke, you know? One of the best schools in the country. It’s a great program, great development, so it was a good visit.”
Cam Boozer took all the visits with his brother Cayden Boozer, a 6-3 point guard ranked No. 3 at his position by 247Sports.com. Both brothers said their recruitment is currently in a holding pattern while they focus on their high school season. “I’m going to wait until after the season to think about all that,” Cam said. Cam Boozer is the projected No. 2 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft behind A.J. Dybantsa, according to at least mock draft. He is ranked the No. 3 overall prospect in high school basketball regardless of class — behind only Cooper Flagg and Dybantsa — by ESPN’s Paul Biancardi. As for his play at Hoophall, which came in front of a slew of NBA scouts and executives, Cam said, “I think a lot of people have seen my game already, just trying to come out here and win.
