Harvard transfer Malik Mack has committed to Ed Cooley and Georgetown, he told ZAGSBLOG.
“I will be attending Georgetown University,” he said. “My belief in Coach Cooley and what he is building at a great university is what attracted me, as well as wanting to develop my game for the next level by using all of the resources available to me and playing in the Big East.”
The 6-foot-1 Maryland native averaged 17.1 points, 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year. He could be a foundational piece for Cooley going forward.
“I will bring leadership, a winning mentality and hard work to the program,” he said. “I believe those three qualities are key to making a team successful.”
Georgetown also added 6-8 TCU transfer guard Micah Peavy, who averaged 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Georgetown this weekend is also hosting Rutgers big man transfer Cliff Omoruyi.
“I haven’t actively began recruiting other players, but I plan to assist in any way possible to help improve the team,” Mack said.
