Albany coach Dwayne Killings and his staff added a pair of veterans via the transfer portal on Monday.
DeMarr Langford, a 6-foot-5 guard from UCF, is headed to Albany, a source said. The Worcester, Mass. native averaged 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds last season at UCF, but averaged 7.0 points and 2.8 rebounds the prior season at Boston College, and 11.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2021-22 at BC.
He initially committed to BC in 2019 over North Carolina State and Texas A&M.
“I picked UAlbany because of the atmosphere that I received when I visited them on campus,” he said via text. “Also the staff was very optimistic about their situation and me helping them get to where they wanted to get and that is the conference championship game and making a run in the NCAA Tournament.”
He added: “What I bring to the team is veteran leadership and versatility in all aspects of basketball. Developing my game to became a superstar talent offensively while still bringing that same intensity on the defensive end.”
Kacper Klaczek, a 6-8 forward, is also transferring to Albany from St. Joe’s, a source said.
He averaged 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds last season at St. Joe’s.
