Five-star wing Andrej Stojakovic is on the move.
The 6-foot-7 wing is transferring to Cal from Stanford, choosing the Bears over Kentucky and North Carolina. Ironically, both teams are also on the move to the ACC next season.
“I picked Cal because of the belief and vision that Coach [Mark] Madsen has for me,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “He and his staff were consistent throughout this recruitment and they had a clear plan for how they wanted to use and develop me. There’s a sense of urgency and competitiveness about Coach Madsen that was very appealing. I believe in the program that he’s building and excited to get to work.
The son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds this past season under Jerod Hasse, who was let go after the season.
“Cal is getting a relentless worker,” Stojakovic said. “Someone who can score a variety of ways. I’m coming in to lead by example and make my teammates better every day. My goal is to compete for an ACC Championship and get us back to the NCAA tournament.”
