La Salle grad transfer guard Jhamir Brickus has officially signed with Villanova after committing April 28.

“Jhamir is a high-level decision maker, distributor, and scorer,” said Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune. “He possesses some of the best traits of a Philly guard with his toughness and understanding of the game. His experience and knowledge will be a great asset to our team, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Villanova family.”

The 5-foot-11 Brickus averaged 13.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season at La Salle.

“I fit their style of play and I had a good relationship with coach Ash Howard,” he told ZAGSBLOG.

“The skillset I would bring is my toughness and the ability to make the people around me better.”

He joins incoming guard transfer Tyler Perkins, who averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 29 games for Penn last season.

Villanova lost several outgoing players in Brendan Hausen (Kansas State), Trey Patterson (Rice), TJ Bamba and Lance Ware.
