A.J. Dybantsa, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2025, announced Friday he will transfer for his senior season to Utah Prep from Prolific Prep in Napa, Calif.

The 6-foot-9 Dybantsa, a Brockton, Mass. native, transferred to Prolific Prep from Saint Sebastian’s (Mass.) after his freshman season. Last fall, he announced he was reclassifying to the Class of 2025 from 2026.

“We are thrilled to welcome AJ and the Dybantsas to the Utah Prep family,” Utah Prep coach Justin Yamzon told ZAGSBLOG. “Being the top player in the country reaffirms AJ’s commitment to his craft and future so we are excited to be a part of his journey. AJ brings an infectious energy and passion to the game and I am excited for the opportunity to coach and build a relationship with him. There are big things coming to Utah Prep and we are confident that AJ will have an unforgettable experience and senior season with us.”

“AJ is a great kid who is destined to accomplish huge things,” Prolific Prep coach Ryan Bernardi told ZAGSBLOG. “We wish the Dybantsa family nothing but the best in their next endeavor. It was an honor to coach AJ during his time here.”

He holds offers from virtually every high-major program and will schedule visits to several schools for late summer/early fall, his father told ZAGSBLOG.

He recently picked up offers from Utah, USC and Houston.
