KANSAS CITY — Class of 2025 four-star guard Salim London is eyeing a June visit to Mississippi State and plans to take the rest of his official visits in the fall during football season, he told ZAGSBLOG.com.

London — the 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard from Hoover High School (AL) and the Georgia Stars Nike EYBL AAU program — has already taken unofficial visits to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama (two or three times) and Tennessee his freshman year.

“In the fall, that’s probably when I want to pick the few [officials] I’m really set on,” London said.

London named Alabama, Ole Miss and UAB as the top schools he wants to visit. He also said those three, plus Mississippi State and Murray State, have been recruiting him hardest lately. Here is his breakdown of each program:

Mississippi State: “They play really hard, and one thing they do is they give their freshman freedom. They’ve been in contact with me the most. I’ve been over there a lot, and they all just have really good energy.”

UAB: “UAB kind of really just started recruiting me. They were coming to my school. The assistant coach [Rob Williams] has been really texting me and been getting to know me consistently.”

Murray State: “They have been texting me consistently. They’ve been at the school a few times. Coach [Steve] Prohm is always texting me. He sends me funny videos too.”

Ole Miss: “So their first college coach, he was recruiting me and he ended up getting fired. So another college coach [Chris Beard] came. But one thing he did, when he came in, he brought me in on a visit and was like ‘you’re still offered, we still like you and we still want to keep recruiting you.’ So that made me feel welcomed. When me and him talked, one thing he said was ‘you can’t teach winning.’ He told me I was a winning player and he said they really need that on the team.”

Alabama: “Alabama, it’s been since ninth grade. My dad played at Alabama. But they started back texting me, keeping in contact with me. I’ve probably been over there the most out of all of the places. [Nate Oats] is a pretty cool guy. Me and him are really close. I played pool against him. [London won.]”

Salim’s father is Tarik London, who played for the Crimson Tide from 1997-2001. Tarik averaged 2.6 points in 18 minutes per game over his four-year career.

London said the college coach he is closest with is Chris Jans of Mississippi State.

For the Georgia Stars in Session 4, London is off to an impressive start. The guard is averaging 14.0 points and shooting 60.7% from the field through three games.

“I feel like I have a high IQ,” London said of his skillset. “I’m a combo guard. I can play on the ball, off the ball, and I can shoot. Really I think I’m your overall point guard and I can control the game. I’m smooth and I can control the game.”

London is ranked the No. 123 player in the 2024 class per 247Sports. His favorite NBA players are De’Aaron Fox and Paul George.
