KANSAS CITY — Top-50 guard Alex Lloyd is locked into the Florida Gators 2025 recruiting class, and he’s trying to bring two big names — five-star twins Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer — to Gainesville to join him.

    “You never know,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd — the 6-foot-3, 165-pound guard from Westminster Academy (FL) and the Nightrydas Elite AAU program — plays with the Boozer twins for Nightrydas on the Nike EYBL circuit. A backcourt of he and Cayden, paired with a dominant big like Cameron, could make quite the trio at the next level.

During Session 4, those three combined for a whopping 51.6 points points per game. Lloyd contributed 15.4 points per game while shooting 52.6% from the field in Kansas City.

This move to recruit both Boozer twins may be hard for Lloyd to pull off, though, as the Boozer twins confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.com on Monday that they aren’t necessarily a package deal.

Lloyd projects as the primary ball handler or two-guard at Florida.

“Very mildy Todd [Golden] has told me he wants me to come in and be the primary point guard, play off-ball a little bit,” Lloyd said. “He just wants me to come in there and help them win.”

Golden started recruiting Lloyd the summer of his sophomore year and the relationship built over the years.

“He was just excited to meet me, excited to get me up there, be a Gator,” Lloyd said. “He’s just been a great guy to me. He’s an overall great guy and I can’t wait to play for him.”

Lloyd took his last visit to Gainesville in late February. He said Florida is a very nice school and has a welcoming program.

“Gainesville is a very nice area as well,” Lloyd said. “Everything about the town I love. Just the family and the environment I love. It’s just amazing.”

Lloyd is ranked the No. 46 overall player in the 2025 class per 247Sports and the No. 7 prospect out of Florida.

Lloyd’s message to Florida fans: “They are getting a kid that’s going to want to win, want to improve and want to improve the program. Chomp, chomp. Go Gators.”
