Darius Acuff, the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2025, is down to Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan and UConn, he announced Friday.
The 6-foot-3 IMG Academy product officially visited Arkansas back in May and Kansas in April. He got down to the hometown school Michigan back in the fall, telling ZAGSBLOG that the Wolverines are “definitely” a consideration.
Acuff was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2024 after leading the United States to another gold medal in June.
The 17-year-old was instrumental in guiding his country in their 110-70 win over host country Argentina, finishing with 26 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals (37 efficiency) in the final played at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Acuff recently broke down his recruitment to ZAGSBLOG at last month’s USA Basketball camp.
Although he hasn’t seen UConn yet, the young guard would like to get out to Storrs.
βI probably want to get to UCONN and a couple more schools,β he told ZAGSBLOG in an exclusive interview at USA Camp. βIt is a great school and they are tough. They play real basketball and it is a winning program.β
