How much does Kansas have it rolling at the moment?

So well that Bill Self may want to buy a Powerball ticket or two.

The Jayhawks capped a gigantic Monday by utterly destroying Texas No. 23 Texas, 86-56, in a nationally televised game that saw Perry Ellis go for 20 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, Wayne Selden score his 1,000th career point and Jamari Traylor make this highlight-reel dunk.

How long is Kansas’ current run of Big 12 titles? To put it in perspective, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were both U.S. Senators the last time Kansas didn’t win a share of the Big 12. And as our friend Mike DeCourcy pointed out, the iPhone had yet to be invented.

Earlier Monday, Kansas became the first team this season to reclaim the No. 1 ranking after previous No. 1 Villanova lost Wednesday at Xavier.

The Jayhawks, who went 9-0 in February, are poised to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and possibly the No. 1 overall seed in the Big Dance.

As I pointed out in this earlier column, Kansas is accomplishing all of this without a single player projected as a first-round NBA Draft pick this year by DraftExpress.com.

When’s the last time the potential No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament could say that?

As if all that weren’t enough, Thon Maker, a 7-footer who has drawn comparisons to Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett, said he will take an official visit to Kansas on Saturday, when they host Senior Day against Iowa State.

So yeah, Kansas has it rolling pretty good.
