NEWARK — Brandon Randolph had quite a weekend for himself.
On Saturday, the 6-foot-6, 175-pound Class of 2017 shooting guard went for 30 points to lead The Westtown (PA) School to a 73-65 victory in the PAISAA Championship game.
Twenty-four hours later, he was courtside at the Prudential Center watching Seton Hall stun No. 5 Xavier, 90-81, to cement the school’s first NCAA Tournament bid since 2006.
“It’s pretty exciting,” Randolph told SNY.tv from his courtside seat.
The Yonkers, N.Y., native saw his recruitment blow up this season as he added offers from the likes of Louisville, Marquette, Xavier, St. John’s, Seton Hall and more.
Now that the season is over, he’s planning to take some additional unofficial visits. He will be at Madison Square Garden for Providence-St. John’s on Saturday for the final regular-season game of the year for Chris Mullin and the Red Storm.
Joining Randolph will be his PSA Cardinals teammates Mohamed Bamba and Hasahn French, along with Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine of the Ranney (N.J.) School. The 7-foot Bamba is the No. 2-ranked player in the Class of 2017 according to Scout.com and also holds offers from the likes of Duke and Kentucky. The 6-6 French is a 2017 power forward from the Springfield (MA) Commonwealth Academy. Lewis and Antoine are freshman stars in New Jersey.
“I’m trying to go visit all my options, like Louisville, Marquette, Xavier, see a couple of their games,” Randolph said. “Right now we have a break between school and AAU season, so I get to visit a couple of schools.”
Randolph runs with the PSA Cardinals AAU program alongside fellow Westtown star Bamba, but now Randolph is catching some love, too.
“It’s just been exciting,” he said. “This process is great. My family is very excited, so everything’s going great.”
As for what he’ll be looking for in a school, he said, “That’s a family decision. We have to talk about everything about what I want to major in and what fits into my system.”
As for his skillset, he said, “I’m a combo guard. I’m looking for a school that can defend and play a run-and-gun offense.”
Randolph’s parents sat courtside with him and will be heavily involved in his recruitment. His mother, Robin, said they have no plans to make a list anytime soon.
“At the moment, it’s very early in the process so we’re not anywhere near making a decision about schools,” she said. “I think by the end of the summer we’ll probably have more of an idea. Ultimately it’s his decision.”

Seton Hall had a slew of recruits on hand for the Xavier game, including 2016 signee Myles Powell, David Beatty, Bourama Sidibe, Myles Cale, Atiba Taylor, Taylor Funk, Jahvon Quinerly, Luther Muhammad and Jalen Carey.
