Jordan Scott, the No. 52 overall player in the 2025 class, has committed to Tom Izzo and Michigan State, he announced live to 247Sports.

Scott — the 6-foot-7, 185-pound small forward from South Lakes (VA) and the Virginia Elite Under Armour AAU program — becomes Michigan State’s first 2025 commit.

“Tom Izzo is a legendary coach,” Scott said of his decision. “He’s built a great foundation over the past 30 years and I definitely want to be a part of that program.”

    Scott later continued:

“I think [Izzo] trusts me over the past few years that he’s been recruiting me. He’s obviously looking for a tall wing that can stretch the floor, and I think he sees that in me. He also sees I can play the right way and play the Michigan State way.”

This past summer, Scott was the engine that drove Virginia Elite on the UAA Rise circuit. In 16 games, the small forward averaged 16.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 44% from the field and 36% from 3. Scott was active defensively as well, adding 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. He is the reigning 6A Virginia Player of the Year.
