Class of 2025 four-star big man Jamarion Davis-Fleming has committed to Mississippi State, he announced live to 247Sports.
Davis-Fleming, the 6-foot-9, 214-pound center from Canton (MS) and the Team Thad Nike EYBL AAU program — chose Mississippi State over his other finalists James Madison, LSU and Ole Miss.
“Chris Jans, what he instilled in me, what he told me — he was always calling me everyday,” Davis-Fleming said of his decision. “They gave me the perfect plan. They gave me the blueprint. The SEC is the best conference in the league, and I just want to be great… It was the best fit for me.”
The big man committed today to honor his late grandfather’s birthday. His grandfather passed away in July of last year. Davis-Fleming also has basketball in his blood. His father, Marcus Fleming, was a standout hooper at Alcorn State. His brother, Javian Davis, started his college basketball career at Alabama before transferring to Mississippi State and finishing his career at UAB in 2023-24.
Jans now has three 2025 commits in Davis-Fleming, four-star small forward Cameren Paul and four-star guard King Grace. The class before Davis-Fleming’s commitment was ranked No. 23 in the nation per 247Sports. The Bulldogs likely now have a top-15 to 20 class.
Davis-Fleming, the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi, will have the chance to be a hometown hero. Canton is under two hours away from the Mississippi State campus.
“I can come in and have a great chance to play as a freshman,” Davis-Fleming previously said of Mississippi State. “They said they like my game and how I can stretch the floor out. They like they way I play on defense. They’re a defensive school so they say I can come there and block shots and play right from the get-go.”
