Four-star guard Kayden Mingo of Long Island Lutheran (NY) and the PSA Cardinals is headed to the Big Ten.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound combo guard committed to Penn State over Wake Forest, he told ZAGSBLOG.

“I will be taking my talents to Penn State because I feel like this is the best place for me to thrive and achieve my goals,” he told ZAGSBLOG.

“I will bring a winner’s mentality and all types of skill sets,” he added. “Anything that is needed to win I believe; I am a very versatile player with a mixture of all skill sets.”

Said PSA Cardinals coach Casey Williams: “Kayden is one of the fiercest competitors I’ve ever been around. Leader, coachable and committed to the work. Kayden will have an immediate impact in college while also continuing to grow as a player.”

Mingo joins four-star small forward Mason Blackwood (N.H.) and three-star center Justin Houser (PA) in coach Mike Rhoades’s 2025 recruiting class.

Mingo has a lengthy family history in athletics. His father, William Mingo, played college football at Delaware State and his older brother, Dalique Mingo, played basketball at Howard University from 2014-18.

He also has a little brother, Dylan Mingo, who is a five-star in the class of 2026.

Kayden said it’s a possibility he teams up with Dylan in college.

“Yea, we talked about it,” Kayden said. “Not exactly finalized that we’ll team up or not, but we’re both on our routes. So I would say it’s a possibility.”
