Creighton star Pop Isaacs will miss the remainder of the season due to hip surgery, a team spokesman confirmed on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2 junior guard is averaging 16.3 points, second on the team, and poured in 27 points with 7 rebounds and 4 assists in Wednesday’s 76-63 home upset of No. 1 Kansas.

“Feeling crushed for them, losing Pop Isaacs today was just brutal, and I do feel bad for Mac [Creighton coach Greg McDermott] and those players and coaches,” UConn coach Dan Hurley said Saturday.

Isaacs transferred from Texas Tech and chose Creighton over BYU and St. John’s.

Creighton (6-3) hosts UNLV Saturday afternoon.
