If it seems that every day brings a Tobias Harris update, well, that’s because it does.
The 6-foot-8 Harris is at the Syracuse Elite Camp this weekend after seeing Maryland, Georgetown and Virginia last week.
“Tobias had a excellent meeting with the Coaching staff,” his father, Torrel, wrote in an email. “Tobias was impressed that the business program is ranked No. 20 in the country. He wants to major in Business.
“On the basketball side, the coaching staff gave Tobias a great feel on how things are structured both offensively and defensively. Donta Green also spoke with Tobias regarding the freedom to be creative in the offense, stating (that) Coach (Jim) Boeheim just lets you play as long as you are playing hard.
“The coaching staff broke down Syracuse’s offense strictly for forwards on game film. They showed highlights of all the great forwards who played for Coach Boeheim at Syracuse and how coach just lets them play and be creative on offense. Coach Boeheim does not limit their game as basketball players and coach Boeheim has helped over 25 players get to the NBA.
“Coach (Rob) Murphy was very effective showing how the Syracuse offense goes through their forwards first. Tobias was very impressed with the freedom forwards have in their offense in allowing them to create and to be able to utilize their skill level.
“Syracuse’s academic advisor is very strong on keeping track of every player’s schedule, and requirements in the classroom.
“After his visit with the coaching staff, academic advisor, and strength conditioning coach, he played a pick-up games with the Syracuse basketball team and the many pro players who attended the
