Lest a day go by without a Tobias Harris update, here we go.
The 6-foot-8 Harris, who transferred to Long Island Lutheran, attended the Kentucky-Louisville football game Sunday. He recently cut his list to 10 schools, including Louisville.
“Tobias had a great visit to Louisville,” his father, Torrel, said. “The whole visit was nice. Tobias had the chance watch the football game against Kentucky. The fans were unbelievable, especially when the Louisville basketball team was introduced. The whole atmosphere was great.
“Tobias had a meeting with Coach Rick Pitino and he came away very impressed with Coach Pitino and all of the coaches.
“This was Tobias’ second visit to the University of Louisville, but he said this time was different. When he came down the first time, Coach Pitino really hadn’t had a chance to see him play, only coach Walter McCarty did. This time he had seen Tobias play doing the July evaluation period at the Reebok All-American Camp & Peach Jam, and he said to Tobias that he really liked the multi-skill level of his game.
“Tobias felt like his visit was a tour to see everything, like the basketball facilities, football stadium, and the dorm where majority of the players stay. He liked the facilities and the coaching staff also, and you can’t get any better than coach Pitino.
“Tobias starts school on Tuesday at Long Island Lutheran, and he will focus on academics. He currently has 3.5 GPA.”
