Tony Wroten says he knows where Marquis Teague is going.
And Wroten says Teague will announce today (Thursday) for Kentucky over Louisville, Indiana, Cincinnati and Purdue.
“Yessir. Mr.teague will b a kentucky wildcat. Its final,” Wroten wrote on his Twitter.
The 6-foot-2 Teague of Indianapolis Pike is the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2011 and the No. 2 overall player, according to Rivals.
Kentucky has already secured a commitment from Michael Gilchrist, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2011 out of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick.
So if Teague does in fact commit to the Wildcats, head coach John Calipari will have landed the No. 1 players in the Class of 2010 (Brandon Knight) and 2011 (Gilchrist) as well as the No. 2 player in 2011 (Teague).
Teague averaged 16.3 points, 4.6 assists and shot 43 percent from the field last season.
Louisville coach Rick Pitino put a lot of work into the Teague recruitment. He coached Shawn Teague, Marquis’ father, at Boston University, and hired Shabaka Lands, a former Pike assistant, to serve as “special assistant to the head coach.”
Yet, according to Wroten, Teague will become the latest stud to commit to Calipari, which would serve as a major blow for Pitino and the CArdinals.
As if all that weren’t good enough news for Kentucky fans, the 6-4 Wroten, the No. 9 player in the Class of 2011, says his top six — in order — are “Kentucky, UConn, Washington, ‘Nova, Syracuse and Baylor.”
