**UPDATED AT 6:28 p.m. MONDAY**
I’m now being told that Seton Hall is not actively recruiting St. Benedict’s wing Mike Poole.
It appears now that Poole will not visit Seton Hall this week and will announce his school later this week.
So much for that big Rutgers vs. Seton Hall showdown for his services.
Earlier Monday, Poole’s mentor, Nate Blue, said, “It’s either Seton Hall or Rutgers.”
Boston College had also been in the mix but Blue said “I don’t think he fits [Coach Steve] Donahue’s style of play.”
Poole visited Rutgers last week.
He averaged 10.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 49.7 percent this past season at St. Benedict’s, which finished 20-1 on the season under former coach Dan Hurley.
He was tied for third on the team in scoring with 6-8 forward Gilvydas Biruta, who has signed with Rutgers.
