The day after David Cox was named Associate Head Coach at Rutgers last week, one of the first calls he made was to junior college shooting guard Tyree Graham.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Graham had known Cox, the former Georgetown assistant, since he was 15 years old and played with the DC Assault AAU program.
Now that Cox had gone to work for Rutgers head coach Mike Rice, he wasted no time looking for players for his new boss.
“He called me and I even asked, ‘Is there any chance of me coming there [to Rutgers]?'” Graham, 21, said Thursday by phone from Durham, N.C.
