Aaron Cosby To Seton Hall; Harkless, Lincoln Players Visit Rutgers
Aaron Cosby, a 6-foot-2, 185–pound combo guard from Northfield Mount Hermon (Mass.), committed to Seton Hall during a weekend visit.
Cosby, a Louisville native now prepping at NMH, chose the Pirates over Boston College, Indiana, Providence, Northwestern, Marshall, Western Kentucky and St. Louis.
“Yes, it was a comfortability with the coaches,” Cosby said by phone. “I built a relationship with the coaches . They recruited me the hardest these last three months. Coach [Kevin] Willard and coach [Dan] McHale have been seeing me since I was a freshman in Louisville.”
McHale recruited Cosby during his time at Louisville before joining Willard’s staff at Iona.
Cosby is Seton Hall’s first 2011 commit and the Pirates have five more scholarships to give.
Cosby averaged 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for NMH coach John Carroll, who says he’ll be a perfect fit at Seton Hall. He can take over the point after Jordan Theodore leaves in two years.
“I think he’ll be terrific,” Carroll said. “He’s everything that Seton Hall basketball is looking for for their program. He’s an unbelievable kid. He’s maturing into a terrific leader. Shaheen Holloway could not be a better match in terms of developing him further in the lead guard spot.”
Cosby said Holloway was a key factor in his decision.
“We had some conversations today,” he said of Holloway. “My family loved it and I loved it, too.
“I’ll be a combo guard. With him being a great guard, I know he’ll be able to mentor me and help me every step of the way.”
HARKLESS, LINCOLN PLAYERS VISIT RUTGERS
Sunday was a big day for visitors at Rutgers
Maurice Harkless, a 6-6 wing who recently decommitted from UConn, visited campus and ran with the team.
Harkless was joined by Lincoln players Shaquille Stokes and Kamari Murphy.Joel “Air Jamaica” Wright, a former Fordham and Manhattan commit, was also supposed to visit Rutgers. He will also head to Robert Morris Monday-Wednesday and Rice University Thursday.
