Not long after speaking Monday morning with Anthony Davis Jr. and Sr., I called the father back to clarify something.
He ended up breaking the news that his son, a 6-foot-9, 187-pound forward from Chicago Perspectives Charter School, had actually cut his list to three schools.
“We’re looking at Syracuse, Kentucky and Ohio State,” Anthony Sr. said. “I think those three schools fit perfectly in the style of basketball he plays.”
Davis Sr. said his son, the No. 2 power forward in the nation according to Rivals, planned to announce his college choice sometime in “mid-July.”
“Yep, right around then we’ll be letting everybody know where he’s going,” Anthony Sr. said.
He said his son wants to major in sports management and said two of the three schools had strong programs, but he wasn’t certain which ones.
“I know two of the schools have his major and I don’t know off hand which two it was,” he said.
