The LeBronathon will officially end Thursday night.
James plans to announce his future plans during a one-hour ESPN special beginning at 9 p.m., ESPN’s Chris Broussard reported.
Broussard’s sources said James’ representatives contacted ESPN and asked to sell sponsorship for the special, with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. ESPN.com reported that ESPN agreed, but had not heard back from James.
James also opened a Twitter account Tuesday under the name @KingJames and as of 10:30 p.m., he had more than 181,000 followers.
This first Tweet read:
“Hello World, the Real King James is in the Building “Finally”. My Brother @oneandonlycp3 gas’d me up to jump on board so I’m here. Haaaa
James is considering staying in Cleveland or leaving for New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Miami or Los Angeles.
Because he’s announcing after his Nike Skills Academy ends Wednesday in Akron, and because he’s raising money for charity, speculation runs rampant that he will remain with the Cavaliers.
