NEW YORK – Kim Clijsters was born in Belgium and spends a good deal of time with her husband on the Jersey Shore.
But she has made Arthur Ashe Stadium into yet another cozy home.
Clijsters, the No. 2 seed, won her second straight U.S. Open title – and third in a row in which she’s played – by routing No. 7 Vera Zvonareva of Russia, 6-2, 6-1, in 59 minutes during a primetime final Saturday night.
