  • The Chas is On for Rutgers

    PISCATAWAY, N.J. —  Chas Dodd threw for 81 touchdowns and more than 10,000 yards at Byrnes High School in Lyman, S.C., but when Rutgers coach Greg Schiano recruited him he didn’t imagine that Dodd would be starting anytime soon.

    That’s because Schiano already had his “quarterback of the future” in 6-foot-5 Tom Savage.

    “Obviously, when we recruited [Dodd] we didn’t think that there would be the need for it,” Schiano said Monday after Rutgers practice. “But then Tom got injured.”
