Mario Moody, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound senior small forward from East Orange (N.J.) Campus, is the latest player to commit to Wagner coach Dan Hurley.
“It was last [Sunday] night, actually,” Moody said by phone.
“I liked that it was good local school and I got accustomed to being there. I’ve been there five or six times.”
He added: “I picked the school because I thought it would help me achieve my goals in the short term, mid term and long term. My long term goal is to be a successful person and to make to the NBA.”
Moody lives just about 30 minutes from the Staten Island school where Hurley is in his first year as head coach. He chose Wagner of Fordham, Temple and Florida Atlantic.
“Basically I’ll be a small forward that can hit the shot, drive, defend and shot block,” he said. “I’ll bring what I was doing at my school to their program.”
Moody will play in Sunday’s Eddie Griffin Challenge Senior Game at Trenton Catholic.
