In what can’t come as a shock to many, 6-foot-10 center Cody Zeller has chosen Indiana over Butler and North Carolina.
“Until about a week ago, I didn’t know it was right,” Zeller said during the announcement, according to the Indianapolis Star. “Next year, I’m going to go to IU. The biggest thing was the players and the coaches. They had a good combination of the two.”
“I knew it was the right thing for me,” Zeller added. “It was a tough process, but I enjoyed it. … I didn’t tell hardly anyone.”
Zeller, out of Washington (Indiana), is the No. 4 rated power forward in the Class of 2011, per Rivals.com.
Cody’s older brother, Tyler, is a junior at North Carolina and his oldest brother, Luke, competed at Notre Dame.
This is a major get for head coach Tom Crean, who has already landed 6-8 junior forward Hanner Perea, 7-0 junior center Peter Jurkin and two of the nation’s top freshmen, Trey Lyles and James Blackmon Jr.
