In this edition of The Big East Report Dan Gavitt talks about the league’s overall strength, the newly revamped SEC/Big East Invitational and the addition of TCU to the league.

Here are some additional Big East notes:

    ·        Three Big East teams remain unbeaten after Tuesday’s games. Cincinnati improved to 11-0 with a 64-48 win at Miami (Ohio).

    ·         The two other unbeaten teams are in action Wednesday as Syracuse (12-0) hosts Drexel and Connecticut (11-0) hosts Harvard.

    ·         Big East teams have handed two previously unbeaten teams their first losses in the last four days. West Virginia defeated previously unbeaten Cleveland State Saturday, while St. John’s knocked off Northwestern last night.

    ·         The win against Northwestern gave St. John’s the MSG Holiday Festival championship for the 16th time in the event’s history. It’s the second in-season tournament title for St. John’s, which alson won this year’s Great Alaska Shootout.

    ·         Wednesday’s schedule has nine Big East teams in action, including three teams that take to the road. Villanova is at Monmouth, USF is at Cleveland State and Louisville visits Western Kentucky.
