The Knicks added height and bulk to their depleted frontcourt Tuesday by adding 6-foot-11 Jared Jeffries and 6-8 Derrick Brown.
The moves came after the ‘Bockers cut ties with Kelenna Azubuike and Corey Brewer.
Jeffries returns to New York after playing in 18 games for Houston, where he averaged 1.5 points and 1.9 rebounds over 7.7 minutes.
The Bloomington, IN native originally signed with New York as a free agent on Aug. 8, 2006, appearing in 236 games (135 starts) with the Knicks, averaging 4.5 points on .434 shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 22.9 minutes.
He was dealt to Houston on Feb. 18, 2010 in the Tracy McGrady deal.
The Knicks claimed Brown off waivers.
The Dayton, OH native is averaging 3.7 points on .549 shooting and 2.0 rebounds over 11.9 minutes in 41 games (one start) during the 2010-11 season.
He was originally selected by Charlotte in the second round (40th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft after a three-year career at Xavier University.
He was waived by the Charlotte Bobcats on Feb. 24.
