Kyle Anderson, the No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2012 according to Rivals, continues to say that Seton Hall is working the hardest to land him.

“Yeah, they’re definitely recruiting me the hardest and doing the best job,” the 6-foot-8 Anderson told NBEBasketball.com. “They got good recruits coming in so they’re definitely up there for me to go. I think [I could see myself] playing with the recruits that they’re bringing in and some of the players they have there [already]”

A native of Fairview, N.J., Anderson plays at St. Anthony and he and his mother have repeatedly said staying close to home could be an attractive option.

He also listed St. John’s, Georgetown, Florida, Xavier, UCLA and Arizona.

“That’s it really,” he told NBE. “I told the rest of the schools I wasn’t really interested.”

Anderson could play a point forward or point guard role, depending on the offense.

“I think the thing with Kyle is that people were recruiting him at one point only as a point guard,” St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley said last month, “and I think now his all-around game is so much more than just playing one position that I think when you’re recruiting him right now you’re trying to look at what you have. And then you can put him into a spot that you need, and he can literally can play part of one, two, three, four.”
