Katin Reinhardt, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, is planning unofficials to UNLV, Texas and Baylor this month during family trips, and may also get to St. John’s and Washington State.
Ernie Reinhardt, his father, told SNY.tv by phone that his son will visit UNLV “this weekend” on Thursday and Friday because the family will be visiting Katin’s grandmother.
From Aug. 18-20, Reinhardt will trip to visit Ernie’s brother in Austin, Texas.
“He’s going to go out to Texas on the 18th to the 20th and my brother lives in Austin so it’s kind of nice,” Ernie said. “My brother will go with him to the school.
“Possibly he might see Baylor at the same time. He might just go up there for the day to go up.”
Ernie said his son may also visit St. John’s and Washington State, but no dates have been set.
Ernie may also check out St. John’s himself Aug. 9-11 during a trip East.
“I may go by myself to St. John’s to check it out,” he said.
Arizona State, N.C. State and Syracuse are also in the mix, but those would likely be official visits.
Ernie said Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins has called but that “they’re not ready to do anything until the end of the year.”
By then, Katin will likely have chosen a school.
“I would think Katin will commit as of then,” he said.
