  • Amile Jefferson on Kentucky Visit

Kentucky may have gotten involved with Amile Jefferson late, but the Wildcats are in the mix.

The 6-foot-7 forward left Thursday night with his father for an official visit to the school.

“They’re interested enough to have him for an official visit,” Philadelphia Friends Central coach Jason Polykoff told SNY.tv Friday. “They also brought the entire coaching staff to campus a few weeks when they were allowed to come up and talk with Amile. I believe they had a home visit later that night as well.”

Polykoff said Jefferson’s list currently includes Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Temple, Villanova, Stanford, UConn, Kentucky, Ohio State, N.C. State and Maryland.

Jefferson was unable to go to Kentucky last weekend for Big Blue Madness because he tripped to UConn for its Midnight Madness.

“He said he enjoyed it, he had a good time,” Polykoff said of UConn. “It’s great facilities. He got a chance to meet the guys and he said he had a good time.”

Jefferson is also eyeing trips to N.C. State and Stanford.

“That’s still to be determined,” Polykoff said of the N.C. State visit. “And I think he’s trying to get over to Stanford as well.”

Jefferson may end up signing in the spring if he can’t decide in the fall.

“It all depends if he feels comfortable making a decision,” the coach said.
