The Knicks released their 2011-12 schedule Tuesday night.

Because every NBA team is only playing a 66-game schedule, each team will play only 18 non-conference games and will skip six cities.

That means not every NBA star will come the Big Apple.

Here are some highlights for the Knicks:

**Open their 66-game schedule at home against the Celtics on Christmas Day. Boston swept New York out of the playoffs in April.

**Instead of the playing the Nets the customary four times, they will only meet on three occasions, twice at MSG (Feb. 4 & 20) and once at The Rock (April 18).

**Play one stretch of three games in three nights Feb. 2-4 with home tilts against Chicago and the Nets sandwiched around a trip to Boston.

**Play four games in five nights four times. Between Jan. 24-28, Knicks visit Charlotte, Cleveland, Miami and Houston.

**Carmelo Anthony doesn’t return to Denver, but the Nuggets come to MSG Jan. 21.

**LeBron James & Dwyane Wade visit MSG only once, April 15. The Knicks play in Miami Jan. 27 and Feb. 23.

**Kobe Bryant and the Lakers visit Feb. 10.

**Dirk Nowitzki and the defending NBA champion Mavs visit Feb. 19. The Knicks trip to Dallas March 6.

**Dwight Howard and the Magic visit MSG Jan. 16 and March 28.

**Knicks target Chris Paul and the Hornets visit Feb. 17.

**High-flying dunk-masterĀ Blake Griffin and the Clippers visit April 25.

**Two-time NBA scoring champ Kevin Durant won’t appear this year at MSG.
