Arlington (Fla.) Country Day coach Rex Morgan has three uncommitted seniors who figure to be busy in the coming weeks making college decisions.
Ian Baker is a 6-foot-2 point guard who has been out the last three weeks with a concussion, but has been cleared to return to practice today.
“Memphis and Maryland have shown a lot of interest in Ian,” Morgan told SNY.tv Wednesday.
Carlos Morris is a 6-5 combo guard who has recently drawn interest from Xavier and St. John’s, Morgan said.
“Xavier and St. John’s are in on Carlos,” Morgan said. “They’re going to have him up on a visit.”
Baker and Morris both decommitted from South Carolina.
Lastly, Memphis has also shown interest in 6-9 forward Jordan Goodman, who has decommitted from three schools, Georgetown, Rutgers and Texas Tech.
Morgan said Memphis coach Josh Pastner had called and “was just surprised that both [Baker and Goodman] were available.”
Morgan said Goodman had put up 20+ points in his last three games.
All three players will wait until after the season to plan any college visits.
“Our season’s over next Saturday,” Morgan said. “At that point we’ll see where we’re going.”
DODD GOES FOR 31 AND 30
Maryland commit Damonte Dodd went off for 31 points and 30 rebounds last night but his Queen Anne’s County High team lost a Maryland Class 2A District VIII boys’ basketball semifinal.
The 6-9 center also scored his 1,000th career point.
“I’m glad I made it to a thousand points, but that wasn’t my goal,” Dodd told The Star-Democrat. “My goal was to get the ‘W’ and we didn’t get that.”
