Last night at about 7:15 I got an email from my ticket broker saying he had a Loge seat for Furthur at The Beacon for $200. They are playing a nine-show run here and I wanted to catch at least one night.

I asked my wife if I could go, she said yes, and I was soon out the door and on the subway to meet him at the restaurant Fusha on the Upper West Side.

Since the show had already started when I met my guy, I talked him down from the original price and soon found myself seated in the first row of the Loge at the Beacon, my favorite spot to see a show.

The boys put on a tremendous night with “Bertha,” “The Wheel” and “Not Fade Away” among my favorites.

    Here’s the full setlist.

In the past few weeks I’ve now seen The Allman Brothers Band, Van Halen, Springsteen and now Furthur all in New York City.

(I also caught KISS and Jimmy Buffett at the Final Four in New Orleans.)

All have been great in their own ways and it’s one of the reasons I love living in the Big Bad City.

    Long May You Run.
