Bradley “B.J.” Hayes has set a visit to Georgetown for next weekend and has postponed his UConn visit, his father told SNY.tv Friday.
“He is going to Georgetown,” Brad Hayes said by phone. “He’s going May 4th and 5th and coming back on the 6th.”
Georgetown recently missed out on 6-10 Nerlens Noel when he chose Kentucky over the Hoyas and Syracuse and the addition of the raw, but talented Hayes would be a nice addition in the late signing period.
As first reported by SNY.tv, Hayes, a senior at Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood, had been focusing on Georgetown, UConn, Florida and Texas A&M, with Florida yet to offer as it waits to see what Anthony Bennett does.
But UConn appears to be out of the mix, at least for now.
“UConn is being postponed at this time,” Hayes said. “That’s pretty much where we stand at this time. We just decided we wanted to take a little bit closer look at some things surrounding the program.
“We want B.J. to be in the best situation possible. At this time UConn is postponed.”
The Huskies are currently banned from the 2013 postseason and have lost Alex Oriakhi, Roscoe Smith and Michael Bradley to transfer, and Andre Drummond and Jeremy Lamb to the NBA Draft.
As for future B.J. Hayes visits, his father said, “Nothing is definite at this time, but there are some prospects in the works.”
