GALLOWAY, N.J. — One of the breakout stars of the July live period has to be St. Benedict’s Prep wing Kamall Richards.
After excelling at the Reebok Breakout Challenge, the 6-foot-6 Richards has picked up offers or interest from Marquette, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Fordham, Drexel, LIU, Northeastern, St. Joe’s and others.
“I feel real good,” he said last week at Stockton College. “The hard work is paying off. I’ve been in the gym a lot just trying to work on my game a lot.”
Richards’s outside shot has become much more consistent and he drilled several mid-and long-range jumpers at the Reebok Camp.
“That’s what I struggled with really, so I got in the gym and had to work on that,” he said.
Richards, who is leaning toward playing on the St. Ben’s postgrad team this year, said he plans to take a lot of visits in the fall and “narrow it down to about five, 10 schools and then go from there.”
