Now that he’s transferred to Brewster Academy, Chris McCullough figures to get even more scrutiny from college coaches than ever before.
Brewster coach Jason Smith told SNY.tv that Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon “was here to see him on Wednesday.”
Coaches from Kentucky, Syracuse and St. John’s are all expected in soon to see the 6-foot-10 2014 New York native.
Smith said coaches from Florida, Kansas and Rutgers have also been in touch about coming out to see him.
McCullough recently attend the Syracuse Elite Camp, and told SNY.tv that Syracuse-bound point guard Tyler Ennis is recruiting him hard.
“He said you should come out there and play with me,” McCullough said. “It’s too early [for a] decision but it could possibly happen.”
Smith said he’d like to see McCullough get tougher and more aggressive to take his game to the next level.
“He’s got a ridiculous skill level,” Smith said. “He has the whole package. He can play at the elite level. He can play inside, he can play outside.
“The one thing I would like to see him develop is a little more of a mean streak. He needs to rebound the ball better, be a little bit tougher, more physical in order for him to be one-and-done. He definitely has that capability. He’s a very special talent.”
