After recently decommitting from Xavier, Chipola (Fla.) College shooting guard Chris Thomas remains wide open.

“He’s decommitted,” Chipola coach Patrick Blake, whose team went 2-1 over the weekend in the Southeastern Jamboree, told SNY.tv. “He’s opened it back up and kind of focusing on the start of the season. He really hasn’t gotten much into the whole recruiting process.”

Asked if any schools were expressing strong interest in the 6-foot-5 Thomas, Blake said, “Not really. It’s still obviously fairly new and he’s been committed to Xavier for a while. With our season coming up, that’s his main focus.”

Former Xavier assistant Rasheen Davis is currently at Manhattan. Davis has a strong relationship with Thomas and helped recruit him to Xavier.

“He loved Xavier and he has a great relationship with their staff,” Blake said.

“Just coming down the home stretch he felt comfortable opening it back up. He hasn’t talked to any other schools and there haven’t been many other schools in the mix.”

It remains unclear if Thomas will sign in the spring or fall.

“I would think so [that he would sign in the spring],” Blake said. “There’s still a month so anything can happen.”

Chipola also has former Maryland commit Sam Cassell Jr. and former N.C. State pledge Torian Graham on its roster.

Graham will likely be at Chipola for two years.

“He’s about as talented as they come on the court,” Blake said. “He’s been here a very short time. He’s a great kid, great personality. He’s been a joy to have around.”
