Terry Larrier is piling up high-major offers based on his recent play in the Nike EYBL.
The 6-foot-8, 205-pound slashing wing from The Bronx and the Phelps (Pa.) School has recently added offers from St. John’s, Minnesota, Providence, Penn State, Rutgers, George Mason, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, USC, Memphis and Maryland, according to Team Scan coach Terrance “Munch” Williams.
VCU, Texas, Oklahoma and UConn have shown interest in the 2014 prospect.
Larrier said that Providence, VCU, St. Joe’s, Minnesota and Maryland were working the hardest on him right now.
Williams said Minnesota coach Richard Pitino has been at most of Larrier’s games, and that VCU and Providence are also working hard.
“No favorites,” Larrier said. “I like them all.”
Larrier is averaging about 10 points and eight rebounds for Team Scan, which is 6-3 in the EYBL and also features Syracuse-bound forward Chris McCullough.
“I’ve been playing well in the EYBL and just making sure my team keeps winning and we get to make the Peach Jam,” he said.
Coaches like Larrier’s versatility and ability to defend multiple positions.
“He can guard four positions,” Williams said. “He’s been able to show throughout the live period he can guard top guards and wings. He can shut people down. He’s also showing his versatility, rebounding, shooting, handling.”
He added: “He’s going to be another kid that’s on the rise. He’s gotten tremendously better over the last 12 months. He has shocked a lot of people and hopefully he can continue that. The sky’s the limit for the kid.”
